Copperfield Inn: The Wedding of Bryan & Lizabeth

Bryan and Liza's wedding was incredible. Their friends and family kept everyone laughing all day long, except for when everyone was crying. Days like this are why we do what we do. It's amazing to witness and an honor to document.

The bride and groom were huge basketball fans, so of course we had to dedicate time to showing that when photographing their rings.

Bryan worked at a restaurant and Liza slipped her number on the receipt after dinner. That evening he called her and they never stopped talking after that night.
Their wedding rings were beautiful, and we positioned them on a sneaker as a subtle nod to their passion.

Bryan proposed at the Leyes Easter lunch. Our families were all gathered around the food and we prayed. Then my dad said we should go around and say what we are thankful for. Bryan thanked my parents for hosting the lunch and then bent down and asked me to marry him.
It's really fun for us as photographers when the bride and groom get ready in private homes. There are so many more details we can work with to truly tell the story of who these people are.

My favorite part of planning was planning the wedding with my mom. She really helped me save money as well as make my wedding perfect. - Liza

The ceremony took place at St. Alphonsus Church in Maple Glen, PA. This is Liza’s church. She received all her sacraments here and she loves this church.
Couldn't get enough of these two. Isn't the "ring security" box adorable?

First looks certainly can make the day go more smoothly when it comes to portrait time, but there's something to be said for a groom seeing his bride for the first time as she walks down the aisle toward him.

Tears all day long, especially during the ceremony.

Father Leva performed the ceremony. I choose him because he did my grandfathers memorial mass when my grandfather passed away. - Liza
The architecture of this modern church made for some very cool monochrome shots. When we asked Liza to describe her ceremony in three words, she gave us romantic, lovely, and family. Goal achieved, girl.

Our favorite thing about the wedding was having our family there to witness our love for each other. When we gave the rose to Mother Mary that was a huge part of Liza’s life. Her grandfather passed Jan 10 2016 and she really wished he could be there. And I know he was there in spirit. - Bryan

The time set aside for formal family photos usually isn't the most exciting part of our day, but this group was so awesome to work with. Nothing but laughter and smiles.

It was clear how much the bride and groom valued photography and understood its importance. It is so fulfilling to work with couples like that.

The cake was perfect!! It tasted great and it was simple. We loved the caked topper which said AMOR. The inside of the cake was chocolate chip and the icing was buttercream.

These two were so in love. The impending sunset helped with the atmosphere, but emotions and passion like this are what truly make the portraits.

Bryan and his mom danced to Amor de madre —- which was a slow song and it was very touching. The song of the first dance for the father and bride was a mix of songs. Me and my dad broke it down and gave everyone a show! - Liza

Liza and her dad followed it up with a killer routine that complimented it perfectly and got the party started.

I wanted my wedding to be romantic as well as family oriented. We wanted Spanish music as well as English music in order to make everyone happy. Bryan’s family loves Spanish music and dancing to salsa and bachata. Liza’s family can dance to anything! The reception was awesome!! I would describe it as club-like 90s music. Everyone was dancing and after everyone kept telling us it was a good time. - Liza

  • What advice do you have for other couples in the midst of planning a wedding?

Be patient with each other. Listen to one another and nothing is perfect, there will be ups and down but the planning is supposed to be fun. So enjoy it and try not to get mad at each other!

  • Do you have any budget tips for other couples?

Cut corners where you can, not everything has to be expensive. Wedding are expensive but it doesn't have to break the bank. You do have a life after the wedding.

  • What was the best advice you were given?

To enjoy planning and enjoy each other. There has to be a balance in everything you do.

  • If you had it to do over again, is there anything you would do differently?

    No, everything went perfect!

  • What was your favorite moment or part of the reception?

My favorite part of the reception was having my first dance with my husband and then dancing with my dad.

  • What was your favorite moment from the day?

My favorite part was dancing and seeing my family and friends having a good time.

I am looking forward for the next years to come together. I am looking forward for buying a new house and soon starting our family together. - Liza
