Morven Museum and Garden: The Wedding of Kelsey and Conner

How did you and your partner meet?

Conner and I have known each since grade school but we didn't really get to know each other until my senior year in college. We became friends although I wanted to be more and he fought me for a while but persistence definitely paid off!

How did they propose?

Conner proposed at the farm where I kept one of my horses. It was an early morning proposal and he surprised me with our best friends who were hiding in the barn!

What are you most looking forward to?

We are so excited to celebrate with our family and friends. We got married during COVID in 2020 in my parents' backyard and it was a beautiful ceremony and luncheon but we just cannot wait to truly celebrate with everyone we love!

Describe your ceremony in three words:

Sweet Vow Renewal

Who is your officiant? How did you choose them?

Our officiant is my high school Reverend! I had to take religion in high school and he was the best teacher and Rev, he knew how to make religion fun! I always knew when I got married that I wanted Rev. Chuck to officiate my wedding and Conner was so sweet to agree!

Why did you choose the ceremony and reception locations?

My dad owns a tent rental company and I grew up tenting and being in Princeton. Conner and I met when he was working for my dad so we definitely needed a tent wedding. Morven is such a beautiful and historical site and really allowed for us to have our dream tent wedding.

How would you describe your reception theme?

Rustic elegance
Were there specific blogs / websites / apps / resource materials you found useful during your planning process?

Pinterest is deadly but so helpful! I also relied on The Knot and Wedding Wire.

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

The catering decisions, Conner and I both love food and really loved deciding on the menu.

What was the worst part of the planning process?

Transportation plans!

What food are you most looking forward to on the wedding reception menu?

All of it, but especially the Mac and cheese bar!! Everything on the menu is amazing and really ties him and I together.

Tell us about the cake!!

So neither of us enjoy cake so we decided on an ice cream bar!

What is the first dance song? Father/daughter or mother/son dance?

Conner and I are dancing to True Companion by Marc Cohn, it is such a beautiful song.
