NYC Elopement at the City Clerk's Office

LB

This was such a wonderful afternoon. First of all, getting married at the City Clerk's Office in Manhattan holds profound historic significance and it was an honor to document the experience for this couple.

The City Clerk's Office in New York City is steeped in a rich history that spans generations. Over the years, countless couples from diverse backgrounds and cultures have chosen this hallowed institution as the starting point of their marital journey. I couldn’t help but take a moment to capture my clients in the reflection of the window displaying historic records of the marriages that were performed there.

The grandeur of the City Clerk's Office lies not only in its architectural beauty but also in its symbolic representation of love, unity, and equality. It serves as a testament to the values of inclusivity and civil rights, as couples from all walks of life, regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation, can solemnize their commitment to one another within its walls. This historic location encapsulates the spirit of New York City, a melting pot of cultures and a beacon of hope, making it an ideal place to exchange vows and celebrate the enduring power of love.

We followed the elopement with a portrait session in the neighborhood, including a stop at the Thurgood Marshall United States Courthouse—a special spot for our bride because of its frequent appearances in Law and Order! We wrapped everything up at a pizzeria—because let’s face it, it’s hard to get more NYC than that!
